On multiple occasions, I used CM-Life (the CMU student newspaper) as an outlet to address students, staff, and faculty concerning relevant political communication topics. The first op-ed was informative in nature, explaining what to expect during Obama’s inaugural address. The second op-ed was persuasive in nature, designed to defend rhetoric against charges that it fueled political violence in Tucson, Arizona. Both op-eds illustrate my ability to translate technical content for a general public and my willingness to take a stand on timely topics.
